Appearance
Hassan is a tall, large man with dark skin and dark eyes. He has a large scar on his head and has a prosthetic leg. He uses crutches or a cane on a regular basis. He is thrifty and refuses to buy new clothes until his are unwearable.
Personality
Hassan is a very cheerful man; he does his best to remain up-beat even under stress. Of course, years on ships has taught him when it is necessary to be serious. He has a very fatherly personality, overall.
History
Hassan left home at a young age to become a sailor, eventually finding himself on the merchant ship, The East. Soon enough, he made his way from deckhand to quartermaster and became close friends with the two captains. Hassan was there when their first son was born at sea, cementing himself as part of the family.
After the captains perished from an illness, Hassan encouraged their first son, Asu, to take over from them. Asu was hesitant at first, not knowing what to do with his younger brother, but didn't take too much convincing to change his mind. Asu and Hassan left Asu's younger brother, Qassim, at an orphanage (knowing Qassim hated the sea) and set out.
Hassan treats Asu as if he were his own son, doing everything he can keep his dear friends' legacies alive.
Abilities
Hassan is not a fighter, but carries a knife just in case. His ability to take charge and his knowledge and experience around sailing make him more fit for the Captain title than Asu (but he refuses to take over, stating that he'd prefer The East always be captained by a Naji)
StrengthRelationships
Asu Naji
Hassan views Asu as his own son and is very protective of him. He knows Asu better than anyone.
Qassim Naji
Hassan somewhat regrets leaving Qassim behind due to how he thinks Qassim must feel about it. Secretly, he believes it was the best choice.
Trivia
- Hassan lost his leg and got the scar on his head early on in his sailing career.
